Notice to Entertainers
VOLUME LEVEL
Here, at Roxford Park, band volume can too easily be piercing. Musicians who do not employ a sound engineer to size and balance their volume level to the room are liable for customer dissatisfaction. Please follow this guidance:
Initially, the majority of the audience must be able to eat and talk to each other easily with music playing and also allow time for more people just arriving. Do not turn up the volume to get their attention. Your dazzling performance will do. Later, you will know if people are paying more attention to what they are doing or what you are performing. Use that sense to guide your volume increase. Do not ask the audience, if you have to ask, ask your host and take it as gospel. Be keenly observant for people being too kind to say it is too loud. You can always turn it up later when people no longer care about enjoying themselves. Your audience and your host will respond to your performance with great admiration. Thank you for your consideration.
HOST's SECURITY
Sympathies go out to all underpaid musicians for their earnings. However, you are liable for filling our seats. If no one comes out to see you, you haven't done the job and will be paid accordingly.
